Commercial uses are proposed at the north and south ends of the economic development as proposed in the Comprehensive Plan to serve Quil Ceda Village- customers, freeway traffic and Reservation residents. The north end of the project site, north of the Casino/Resort along 116th Street NE, is designated for future commercial uses as envisioned in the Tulalip Comprehensive Plan. The land surrounding the 88th and 116th Street interchanges have excellent visibility to freeway traffic and the area has high potential to serve the freeway traffic with service such as gasoline, convenience stores and restaurants. Locating service commercial uses in this location will also assure that these types of services are available to reservation residents at competitive prices. The Casino/Resort and economic development will provide a high volume of traffic which helps support commercial service uses. Uses in this area will also serve employees and customers of the Commercial corridor which extends northward along Interstate 5.

Commercial uses are also planned for the area around the 88th Street NE interchange at the intersection of 27th Avenue and Quil Ceda Way (88th Street). These uses will be similar to those along 116th Street in that gas stations, convenience and food outlets will serve freeway traffic, Tulalip economic development and Casino/Resort customers and Reservation residents. The area of land with high freeway visibility is smaller here than at the 116th Street interchange because of natural constraints within the conservation Open Space reserve. Properties south of this intersection, not in the Tribal Trust, may also support this commercial use.
